2. Data in the app
The app processes the information you enter (for example your net income, working hours, currency, prices of items, wishlist entries, fixed costs and subscriptions) exclusively locally on your device in order to provide its functions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). This data is never transmitted to the developer or to third parties.
Device backups
If you have device backups enabled (e.g. iCloud Backup), the operating system may include the app’s data in that backup. This is controlled by you and by Apple; the developer has no access to it.
Home screen widget
To display the widget, the app stores a few summary values (e.g. this month’s working time) in a storage area on your device shared only between the app and its widget.
Notifications
Reminders for your wishlist are scheduled locally on your device. No push server is used.
Face ID / Touch ID (privacy mode)
If you turn on privacy mode, the app asks iOS to verify your identity before showing your income. Biometric data never leaves the secure hardware of your device; the app only receives a success or failure result.
Sharing
When you share a card, the app creates an image on your device and opens the system share sheet. What you share and with whom is your choice; you decide whether the price and/or time is visible.
3. In-app purchases
Life Cost Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; the developer receives no payment or personal data. The app only learns whether Pro has been purchased. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
4. App Store
When you download the app, Apple processes data (e.g. your Apple ID) under its own responsibility. Apple may provide the developer with anonymous, aggregated statistics (e.g. number of downloads, crash reports if you have agreed to share them with developers). These do not allow the developer to identify you.
5. This website
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit it, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, date and time of the request and browser information in server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be processed in the USA; Netlify relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: netlify.com/privacy.
The Life Cost pages use no cookies, no analytics and no external fonts or scripts.
6. Contact by email
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the app stores your data only on your device, you can view, change and delete it yourself at any time – deleting the app removes all of it.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The current version is always available on this page.
